Losing an election
I want to thank the electorate of Blackheath for the privilege they have given me over the last nine years. Being an elected representative was never something I aspired to be, but once I was talked into it I've enjoyed the experience more than I can say.
However, the electorate have decided that they want another set of politicians to represent Blackheath. I wish them well.
I will miss being a councillor and will now have to think about how to make my crust. (One of the harsh bits of reality that I am now facing is that having chosen to serve on Lewisham's cabinet I have now lost a significant part of my income.)
